HOMEMAKER SERVICE

Includes assisting an elderly person or a younger adult living with chronic illness or disability with household management activities. Assistance with household tasks is according to a plan developed by the client and CFS supervisor (2 hour minimum).

Price - $23.00/hr
Reduced fee for homemaking services is available for clients with income of less than $1,218/month.

In addition, we have some grant funding available for seniors over the age of 60, without the ability to pay full fee.

Homemakers (also known as Direct Support Professionals)  are dedicated, compassionate, mature and responsible. They are trained and supervised members of a professional team and carry out assigned tasks according to a personalized plan of care. They are not nurses, domestics or social workers, but they help with the following:

  • Light housekeeping
  • Laundry
  • Plan nutritious meals
  • Shop for the family or individual
  • Cook for the family or individual
  • Relieve families who are stressed due to illness
  • Provide encouragement to those who are disabled
  • Errands
  • Assisting with writing and reading
  • Helping with paying bills
  • Making appointments
