WZID CHRISTMAS IS FOR KIDS RADIOTHON

It’s the “official kick-off” to the holiday season. 

 

 

The WZID Christmas is for Kids Radiothon endeavors to make the holidays brighter for children throughout New Hampshire … children who perhaps have no family and are separated from their siblings in foster care; children whose families live at poverty level; children who are victims of abuse or neglect; or children who are struggling or suffering in any way.   All proceeds will go to directly to local children served through Child and Family Services and the Simon Youth Foundation.  

 

Over the past nine years, the WZID Christmas is for Kids Radiothon has raised over $630,000, serving over 12,800 kids!!   It is the only event of its kind in New Hampshire!

 

The 2008 radiothon promises to feature a blockbuster auction block, too!   Several FANTASY items will be up for auction during morning drive, Dec. 1 – 3, and throughout the days of the live radiothon broadcast.  In the past, our fantasy items have included a trip to Vegas to see Barry Manilow,  SuperPasses to the Verizon Wireless Arena, a Red Sox Spring Training and Busch Gardens vacation special, an advance model Harley Davidson motorcycle and autographed U2 and Bruce Springsteen guitars, to name a few.

And there are many fun ways you can help us make this year the best yet!! 

 

  • You can give a corporate donation from you and your employees
  • You can issue a corporate challenge…matching others’ donations up to a certain amount
  • Your employees can hold a creative fundraiser and then present the check on-air during the radiothon

 

Here are some ideas of what local businesses and organizations are doing: 

  • A local hair salon is donating $5.00 off each haircut on the days of our event
  • A restaurant is designating 50% of its dessert sales during days of even
  • A school is collecting money during its basketball games
