In October, Child and Family Services and RiverWoods at Exeter staged a gala event like no other and raised over $50,000 to support services to local children and families.
An affair to remember, over 400 people from throughout New Hampshire and northeastern Massachusetts turned out for the event, which included silent and live auctions, gourmet delights for every palate, live music and exclusive tastings from local wineries including LaBelle Winery, Jewell Town Vineyards and Zorvino Vineyards.
Over 220 auction items, including fine art from renowned local artists, tickets to major sporting events (including the Red Sox and Bruins), exotic vacations, ski & stay packages, spa retreats, theatre and concert tickets, and much more, were featured on the auction block. .Auctioneer Paul G. McInnis, CAI, AARE was joined by celebrity co-hosts Kevin Skarupa of WMUR & Mike Morin of WZID in facilitating the auction and raffle activities.
RiverWoods residents and CFS board and staff members from throughout the state contributed works of art/craft from oil paintings and photographs to hand-crafted furniture, pottery, quilts and jewelry. RiverWoods residents also provided the live piano music to set the tone throughout the evening.
The smorgasbord of gourmet offerings included a raw bar, decadent deserts, vegetarian fare, colorful cultural cuisine, sumptuously prepared meats from The Meat House, champagne and a selection of beers from Smuttynose Brewery.
Major sponsors of the event included Lecesse Construction, the firm that managed construction of the Boulders;
Bernson Legal, PLLC, a Dover, NH based law firm that is represented on Child and Family Services’ Seacoast board of directors; and GlynnDevins an advertising firm that designed the invitations to the event.
All proceeds will be dedicated to supporting services to at-risk babies, children with developmental concerns, teens in trouble, new mothers, and families who are struggling to stay together.
