General Overview of NH Children's Lobby

The NH Children’s Lobby, established in 1971, is the advocacy wing of Child and Family Services. The program’s mission is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families through legislative, judicial and public policy initiatives. The NHCL is comprised of child advocates, including teachers, lawyers, doctors, social service professionals and others from throughout the state and from within and outside of the CFS organization. Anyone can join as a member of the NHCL. There is no fee to join.

Anyone who is interested in protecting children would be interested in an NHCL membership. During legislative session, members receive an e-newsletter and action alerts, which clearly outline the issues at hand and give comprehensive explanations of how certain legislation can impact children and their families as well as how it will affect communities.   Members have the opportunity to voice their concerns and raise their voices in the public forum. Members also receive the agency’s All in the Family newsletter, which features the human side of CFS…our practice, programs, people and mission and includes national news of interest. Members also receive an invitation to the agency’s Voice for Children Awards /Annual Meeting.
