The IHB temporary caseworker will work up to 40 hours per week for up to 90 days working with families and youth at risk of out-of-home placement. Provide supervision and support to adjudicated youth and families who have open child abuse and neglect cases. Responsibilities include: individual casework, supervision of group activities, independent living skills training and mentoring. Afternoon, evening and weekend hours required. MENTAL HEALTH/SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR for Street Outreach program – Seacoast, NH
As the first point of contact for homeless and runaway youth, aged 12-22, the Street Outreach team provides prevention, outreach, crisis intervention, intensive case management, support services, and aftercare. Team members work with youth to build trusting relationships, reduce and prevent sexual exploitation and improve community awareness. As part of this team, the Street Outreach counselor will be available to youth to provide the initial stages of street-based assessment and therapy with a move to more mainstream mental health or substance abuse treatment as appropriate to each individual. Community collaboration, education, and outreach will also be expected. Clinical master’s degree and mental health license eligibility required (license preferred), as well as experience working with youth and knowledge of substance abuse issues. Seeking someone with an energetic, outgoing personality who can work a flexible schedule, including nights. Must be able to work independently and be a team player. Good organizational skills, ability to multi-task, time management skills, and motivation a must. Part-time (approx 20 hours) position. Driver’s license and auto insurance required.
