Runaway and Homeless Youth
Child and Family Services’ Runaway & Homeless Youth Program (RYP) helps youth
helps youth 12-under 18
who have runaway or become homeless, or are at risk of either. The program seeks to help youth and their families through --
- Prevention services: Outreach to schools and the community. Provides information on the risks and realities of life on the street and what it means to be an estranged youth.
- Crisis intervention: Emergency foster care/host homes are available for kids who require a short cooling off period. The CFS group home may provide emergency overnight care.
- Counseling: Short term, individual, family and/or group counseling can help to open communication, identify problems, set goals and find ways to achieve them.
- Information and referral: Connects youth and their families to other resources in the community. To find out more about the Runaway & Homeless Youth Program or to make a referral, contact:

RYP serves youth who participate voluntarily and who take an active interest in resolving their conflict and deciding the outcome.
Eligibility: youth must not be receiving other counseling or support through the NH Division for Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) or through court involvement.

RYP is sponsored in part by the U.S. Administration for Children and Families, the NH Department of Health and Human Services and the United Way.
Fees: Services are offered at no cost to the participating youth and/or family.
